Sydvaranger mine
In Norwegian Finnmark lies Sydvaranger. The mine is the third-largest iron ore mine in the Nordic region, with its operations currently dormant and a planned restart in 2027. In preparation for the restart, GRANGEX will implement processes to improve the mine’s product quality, which will make Sydvaranger a significant supplier in the value chain for the steel industry’s green transition.
Dannemora mine
In northern Uppland, Sweden, lies Dannemora – a mine with a long history and significant iron ore resources beneath the surface. Ahead of GRANGEX’s planned restart, a new production process will be installed. This will result in improved product quality, enabling Dannemora to become an important part of the value chain for so-called green steel.
Grängesberg
In the recycling of apatite in Grängesberg, the tailings from the iron ore beneficiation at the closed Grängesberg mine will be processed. The byproduct can be used to produce highly enriched apatite. The phosphate mineral apatite is a critical mineral according to the EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act.
Sala Bly
By the old silver mine in Swedish Sala lies Sala Bly. The operation specializes in custom-made products from recycled lead, primarily used in the defense industry and for medical technology applications.
