For Long-term and Responsible Mineral Supply

GRANGEX identifies and develops mineral projects in the Nordic region, aiming to contribute to Europe’s mineral supply in a long-term and responsible manner. Before making an investment, we assess the project’s potential to achieve profitability with industry-standard low investment costs, and we calculate how quickly the project can reach production and thus generate positive cash flow. Our goal is to create profit for our investors while also contributing to positive societal development through responsible mineral production and recycling.

GRANGEX's Operations

GRANGEX currently has three active operations in Sweden: the Dannemora mine, the Apatite project in Grängesberg, and Sala Bly. In Norway, there is the Sydvaranger mine, with planned extraction of high-quality iron ore.

The goal and vision are for all operations to contribute to the sustainable transition in society, with a minimal carbon footprint and by using the best available technologies on the market for production and logistics.

Sydvaranger mine

In Norwegian Finnmark lies Sydvaranger. The mine is the third-largest iron ore mine in the Nordic region, with its operations currently dormant and a planned restart in 2027. In preparation for the restart, GRANGEX will implement processes to improve the mine’s product quality, which will make Sydvaranger a significant supplier in the value chain for the steel industry’s green transition.

Dannemora mine

In northern Uppland, Sweden, lies Dannemora – a mine with long history and rich iron resources beneath the surface. In preparation for GRANGEX’s planned restart of Dannemora, the mine’s production processes will be upgraded. The result will be an improved product quality, allowing Dannemora to become an important part of the value chain for the steel industry’s transition to production with minimal carbon dioxide emissions.

Grängesberg

In the recycling of apatite in Grängesberg, the tailings from the iron ore beneficiation at the closed Grängesberg mine will be processed. The byproduct can be used to produce highly enriched apatite. The phosphate mineral apatite is a critical mineral according to the EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act.
