Project Methodology PMI: The Grangex Way

At Grangex, we manage projects using a proven and globally recognized methodology based on the Project Management Institute (PMI). This framework is widely applied in large and complex projects worldwide and provides a clear and systematic structure from early feasibility studies through to final execution.

For investors, this means confidence — transparency in decision-making, strong financial control and robust governance throughout the project lifecycle.

We divide projects into defined phases according to the PMI model. Each phase ends with a decision gate, ensuring that conditions, costs, schedule and risks remain aligned before moving forward.
This creates order, traceability and control from feasibility study to construction and commissioning. All project data, analyses and results are continuously documented in our digital infrastructure — securing transparency and enabling efficient follow-up.

To ensure a stable and transparent financial structure, we establish a Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), based on the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) created during the feasibility stage. This allows for detailed cost tracking and early deviation detection. We apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to continuously monitor that the project remains on schedule and within budget. This provides an objective, data-driven view of project status and enables rapid corrective action when needed.

During project initiation, we work closely with selected suppliers to ensure the right deliveries — at the right time and cost. The goal is that each supplier clearly understands what is to be delivered, when it should be completed, and which quality standards must be met. Thorough preparation reduces risk and minimizes cost variations during execution.

In the Sydvaranger project, we conducted an extensive risk analysis already at the Definite Feasibility Study stage — and this work continues throughout implementation.
Our objective is to identify risks early, develop action plans, and ensure that alternative paths forward are always available. This creates stability, even in the face of unexpected situations.

At its core, our project model is a structured and transparent way of working. By applying PMI methodology at every stage, we are able to:

• proactively manage uncertainty
• keep budgets intact and deliver on schedule
• secure traceability and well-documented project progress
• provide investors with strong insight and confidence
